How do I get my backer data into Native Pledge Manager?

Export your backer report from Kickstarter, then upload it as it is — you'll map each reward tier and add-on to the matching product in your own store once, and the rest is automatic.

Do backers need a new account or a new checkout?

No. Backers check out through your existing store, using the same payment methods, currency, and checkout flow you already have set up. There's nothing new for them to learn.

Does this handle currency conversion?

Pricing follows whatever your store already charges — the price and currency for each product is whatever you've configured in your shop. Backers' cards are charged in that currency the same way any normal order would be.

What happens to VAT / sales tax?

Tax is calculated and collected the same way your store already handles tax for any other order — through your existing WooCommerce/Shopify tax settings. There's no separate tax system to configure.

Do I need to learn a new platform?

No — that's the core idea. Native Pledge Manager adds pledge-manager functionality directly inside the store admin you already use every day, with nothing new to log into.

How are the calculator numbers assumed?

The calculator uses publicly available platform fee information together with editable assumptions for VAT, shipping, and other campaign costs. Its results are estimates, so review and adjust the advanced values for your own campaign before making decisions.
